Maurizio Di Paolo Emilio has obtained a PhD in Physics and is a Telecommunications Engineer. He has worked on international projects in collaboration with Columbia University and ESA\/INFN. Since 2007, he has been an author and reviewer for scientific publications in journals such as the Microelectronics Journal and IEEE magazines. He collaborates with various companies in the electronics sector, as well as Italian and English blogs and magazines. For years, he has been actively collaborating with FARE Elettronica as a specialized technical journalist and is the Technical Director of the conference sessions at Fortronic, leveraging his experience in Power Electronics.<\/p>\n\n

Power semiconductors based on silicon carbide play an important role in the centre stage of electric vehicle charging circuits. But there is still a lot of innovation in traditional silicon components. This presentation informs about the advantages of either technology, and introduces dedicated MOSFETs, Schottky Diodes, High Voltage and Low Power Loss Rectifiers. Get an overview about the right components for input rectification, power conditioning, inverter stage, auxiliary circuits, over-voltage and ESD protection.
